Love and Sympathy Card

Happy Saturday,

I'm back for another post. I'm also participating again in the latest Sketch Frenzy Friday 011113 sketch. This sketch is great! Thankfully I won't be sending out the sympathy card right now, but it's good to keep some on hand for when it's needed. I like the pattern in this Festival of Prints DSP. I find that many of the designs are suitable for anytime of the year and not just for Christmas.

Here's my card:

Pennant Parade Christmas Card

Hello again,

This post shows my second Christmas card. For this card I used the very versatile Pennant Parade stamp set. I also was excited to use my new Festival of Prints DSP Paper Stack. For the design I went to Sketch Frenzy Friday - 120712. I really like this design and I'm sure I'll use it for another card in the future. I also used the challenge of embossing that I found in Just Us Girls Challenge #166 - Technique Challenge (Embossing). I would have to say that embossing is my favourite technique. It's such a quick and easy way to add texture and depth to a card.

Here's my card:

For today's post I created a card that will be entered in two card challenges. For the design layout I went to Sketch Frenzy Friday for their SFF110212 challenge and then I went to The Paper Players for theme challenge #120: "Give Thanks". I was inspired to use my Comfort Café DSP that I had yet to use. I also used some other supplies that had been untouched on my shelf for too long - the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, the Quint-Essential Flower stamp, the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch, and the Large Oval Punch. It was also the first time I opened up the 2012-2014 In Colour Card Stock paper package.

Here's my card:

The details for the card are:

CS: Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse, Pool Party, Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit, Very Vanilla
DSP: Comfort Café

Wedded Bliss

Hi,

Today is an exciting day. It's the wedding of my cousin to his beautiful bride. The family has been looking forward to this day for a few years.

For their wedding card I wanted to incorporate the wedding colours and the flourish design on the wedding invitation. The wedding colours are purple, pink, orange, and brown. The flourish design reminded me of the flourish in the Bliss stamp set. Choosing the stamp set was easy, but coming up with the layout that used all the four colours was trickier. In the end I'm happy with what I came up with.

Here's the card:

Here are the details for the card:

CS: Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
DSP: Brights Patterns Stack
Stamp Sets: Bliss, Silhouette Sentiments (Hostess - retired), Tiny Tags
Ink: Chocolate Chip
