Petals a Plenty

Hi there,

I hope that you're staying dry. Right now the rain is coming down quite heavily. Yesterday was my mom's birthday and I made this card for her. I used the Paisleys Petals DSP that will be available in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue. I just love this DSP and all the colours that are in the designs. I am participated in the Use It Tuesday challenge - Challenge #8: Flowers! If you're wondering if the rosette is availabe in different colours, I'm sorry to disappoint you. It doesn't. What I did was colour the vanilla rosette with my Stampin' Write Bravo Burgunday marker. This way you can coordinate the rosette with whatever colour you like.

Here's my card:

DSP: Paisley Petals

And the long weekend is over...

My birthday falls over the Victoria Day weekend. What a treat to celebrate my birthday with an extra day off! Well, today reality hits and I'm back to school... marking awaits me.

I thought I'd share these mini thank you cards. They are 2 3/4 X 4 1/4 in size. I used them as "thank yous" for the teachers who helped out with my spring concert. They are all made using the Blueberry Crisp DSP (can you tell I'm trying to get rid of my stash of DSP)???

Happy Birthday Triple Slider Card

Happy Birthday to Heather! I wanted to create a special birthday card for my dear friend and fellow blogger Heather so I decided to make her a triple slider card that Heather Summers created. Check out Heather Summers' blog Stamp With Heather - Triple Tier Slider Card for full dimensions and instructional video. It was easier than I thought to create, mainly because of the video tutorial.

Here's my take on the triple slider card:

So my mom has always asked me for a stash of cards... birthday, thinking of you, sympathy and baby cards. I've always had a difficult time (for some odd reason) making baby cards. So now she's covered... boy, girl or unknown! : )

Cupcake Bling

Hi there,

Today is such a rainy, dreary day that it's perfect for card making. I'm so glad that Heather found her camera and I'm looking forward to seeing her posts this week. I LOVE her latest post with the star scrapbook and coordinating card. For my card I went to a few blogs to participate in some challenges. First I used the sketch challenge #69 from Inkspirations Challenges. Then I went to CR84FN Color Challenge for their CR84RN28 colour challenge. Next I went to Use It Tuesday for their challenge #7 to use some bling. I love all the texture in this card from my new square lattice embossing folder to the pom pom trim to the sponging I did. I really like the effect. What do you think? I'd love to receive your comments.

Here's what I came up with:

HSS Anything GOES Challenge #67

After many days of searching... I found my camera and now have a bunch of cool things to share with you over the next few days!!!

My first post will be the HSS Anything GOES Challenge #67. The task is to create 3D project and then pair it with a coordinating card to create a complete set. Check out their website http://handstampedsentiments.blogspot.com/

I created a star scrapbook using the Celebrations DSP for a coworker. She has the cutest little boy who is almost 2. I then created a coordinating happy birthday card to make it a set.

And here is the star scrapbook:

Front cover...

View from the side...

And finally the coordinating card...

Soooo cute! Anyway... thanks for stopping by. Check back often this week as I promise to have a ton of new posts now that I've found my camera!

Tea Time

Hi there,

Happy Friday! It's been a very warm day today. It was such a nice contrast to the beginning of the spring when it was cold and wet. This card is for a birthday tea party that I've been invited to for tomorrow afternoon. A tea party is such a fantastic idea! As soon as I was invited to the tea party I was thinking of the card that I would create before I thought of what I'd wear. lol. I made my card tea themed as well as I used the mini coffee/tea cups from Itty Bitty Bits and my retired DSP, conveniently called Tea & Crumpets.

Here's the card:

Here are the details for the card:

CS: Always Artichoke, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
DSP: Tea & Crumpets
Ink: Alway Artichoke, Regal Rose
Stamp Sets: Itty Bitty Bits, Teeny Tiny  Wishes
Embellishments: Always Artichoke 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, Always Artichoke brads (retired)

Tropical Flower Birthday Wishes - Double Challenge Card

Hello again,

I love weekends. Mainly because I have a couple of days off from work, but also because I have more time to create cards. I have entered two challenges with this latest post. I went to Clean and Simple Stamping to get a starting point for my card. I then went to Colour Q to get the colour scheme I would be using. The beautiful weather we had yesterday inspired me to create a tropical flower card. I also was excited to use my Daffodil Pompom Trim. It adds so much fun to a card.

Here's the sketch and the colour combination:

Here's my card:

And the details are:

CS: Very Vanilla, Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango
Stamp Sets: Tropical Party, So Happy for You
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Peach Parfait

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
