Pretty in Pink & Purple

Hello again,
I'm back with another post. It's another birthday card. This card is for my goddaughter/niece. It's her 20th birthday on Wednesday. I can't believe that she's turning 20 already. I remember being at the hospital the night she was born, so excited for her arrival.

I went to Clean and Simple Stamping for their sketch #170. As soon as I saw this sketch I thought of adding cupcakes to the card. My goddaughter loves pink and purple so the colours were easy to pick. I used the Silver Glimmer Paper and coloured it using my Melon Mambo Stampin' Write marker.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

The details are:

CS: Melon Mambo textured, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Silver Glimmer Paper
DSP: Brights Patterns Collection DSP
Stamp Set: Create a Cupcake
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo
Embellishments: 5/8" Rich Razzleberry Ribbon (retired)

Oh Christmas Tree

Hi there,
Well, it's almost the end of November and I'm starting to get in the spirit of Christmas. I haven't put up my Christmas tree yet, but I have started to decorate my house. The weather has been mild and it's been raining instead of snowing. I can't say that I'm complaining too much, but I would like some snow for Christmas.

Today's card is helping me stay motivated to continue with my Christmas decorations. I'm participating in Our Creative Corner's O Christmas Tree challenge.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Hi there,
Happy weekend to you. I just love weekends! My schedule is slower and I have time to create cards. Today's card incorporates two card challenges. First I went to Clean and Simple Stamping for sketch challenge #166. I really like the clean design of this layout. I decided to use a circle instead of the tag punch for this card. Next I went to Friday Mashup for challenge #32. This challenge is a mash up of a girly theme and a favourite technique. Making a girly themed card is easy for me because I seem to have a lot of feminin stamp sets and DSPs. There is nothing more girly than doilies, the Flirtatious Specialty DSP and a bit of bling. My favourite technique would have to be using an embossing folder. It's so quick and easy to create a beautiful textured piece.

Here's my card:

Here are the details:

CS: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White
DSP: Flirtatious Specialty
Stamp Set: Delicate Doilies
Ink: Wisteria Wonder
Embellishments: Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones
Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, Lace Ribbon Border Punch

A Star is Born

Happy Saturday,
Today's card is for a very happy occasion. My friend, Andrea just had a baby boy. I'm so happy for her and her family. Her baby boy is lucky to be born into such a warm and loving family. I can't wait to meet him. For the baby card I went to Stamping 411 for their Saturday Sketch Challenge 228. I really liked this sketch right away and it worked so well with what I had in mind for the card. I was also happy to finally use the Nursery Nest DSP. This DSP is adorable.

Here's the sketch:

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Saturday,
This week at school was very hectic. I was working on progress report cards and individual reading assessments. Both were due yesterday. I'm happy to be done and to have the weekend here. One thing I have planned for this weekend is celebrating my dad's birthday at my parents' house. His birthday was Thursday but we're having the family lunch today.

With the busy school week, I don't have a lot of time to create cards, but I try to find the time to blog hop. I'm glad that I do because I find great inspiration and I found a new card challenge (new for me at least). I blog hopped over to Freshly Made Sketches for sketch challenge #8. Right away I liked this sketch and wanted to use it for my dad's card. I'll be back to this blog for sure. For this card I used Well Worn DSP. I really like this DSP, but I haven't used it until now.

Here's the card:

Stamp Set: Bring on the Cake

Use It Tuesday Guest Design Team Spot

Hi There,
At the beginning of the month I participated in Use It Tuesday's Challenge #16 - Chocolate. Well, I had loads of fun creating a card for the challenge because I love chocolate (who doesn't). I was so happy when I was picked as a winner. Yeah! I was then asked to be a guest designer in this week's Challenge #18 - Colors! The challenge is to use the colours of orange, black or purple. Well, I decided to use all three colours. Right away these colours made me think of Halloween. I thought of making a card, but I wanted to do something different so I decided to make a box. I used the Night & Day DSP that I have been hoarding for ages. I filled the box with candy and a little card and gave it all to my friend who loves Halloween. The other projects created by Use It Tuesday's design team are fabulous. Go to Use It Tuesday and check them out.

Here's the top view of the box:

Here's another view of the box:

Fall Leaves

Hi,
Well, I'm the queen of procrastination today. I should be working on the progress report cards for my students, but I was inspired to create a card instead. I can always work on the reports later. It's such a gloomy day - wet and windy - so I'm not tempted to go outside.
For today's post I created a fall card and I am participating in three challenges. First of all I went to Clean and Simple Stamping for Sketch Challenge 162. Then I went to Stampin Royalty Challenge #93 for their picture challenge. Finally, I went to Pals Paper Arts for their PPA115 - Fall/ Thanksgiving challenge.

Here's the sketch:

I Love Stamping!

Hi!

I hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving here in Canada or Columbus Day in the US. The weather this past weekend here in London, Ontario was fabulous. It was such perfect autumn weather. For today's post I wanted to share how I've incorporated my love of stamping into my teaching career. Actually Heather inspired me. She decorated her evaluation binder and I wanted to do the same. I have decorated two binders - my day plan binder and my evaluation binder. I love how the colours of Stampin' Up go so well with the colours of my binders.

For my evaluation binder I went punch crazy and used one of my favourite DSPs - Razzleberry Lemonade. Here it is:

Details:
CS: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry
DSP: Razzleberry Lemonade
Tools: Spring Flower Bouquet Punch (retired), Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Circle Punch, 2" Circle Punch, 2-1/2" Circle Punch, 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch

For my day plan binder I used another one of my other favourite DSPs - Island Oasis. For this binder I cut out each of the tropical flowers and only used one punch. Here it is:

Details:

DSP: Island Oasis
Tools: Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Paper Snips

Happy stamping,

I know this is my second post today, but I wanted to add another one in celebration of World Card Making Day. For this card I am participating in three challenges. First of all, I went to Use It Tuesday's Challenge #16: Chocolate. It gave me a great opportunity to use my Eat Chocolate stamp set. Then I went to CR84FN Color Challenge39. This challenge uses the colours orange, yellow and brown. I really like this colour combination and it works so well with the chocolate challenge. Finally, I went to Stamping 411 for Saturday Sketch Challenge #222. I really like layout of the sketch challenge.

Here is my card:

The details are:

CS: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White

This card is for a sweet former student who recently donated a game to my current class. I've been wanting to use the Hostess DSP Cheerful Treat and I thought this cheerful and colourful DSP would be perfect for her. I went to Clean and Simple Stamping for the sketch.

Happy Saturday!
Well, autumn has officially arrived. Yesterday was rainy all day, but today is a beautiful autumn day. I hope to soon go out and enjoy the day. SU-Only Challenges 28 Challenge, Fall Colours inspired me to create another autumn card and I once again reached for my Day of Gratitude stamp set. I also used a similar colour scheme from my previous autumn card. For the sketch I went to Just Add Ink's JAI 86 - A Sketch Challenge. I decided to keep my card clean and simple.

Autumn is in the Air

Hi there,
It's been so long since my last post. I've really missed creating cards and posting them here, but the end of the summer was very hectic with family and getting my class ready for back to school. I'm getting into the swing of things with my new students. The weather is getting cooler and autumn is in the air. This weather gives me the inspiration to create an autumn card. For starters I went to Friday Mashup challenge #24: Autumn project using shades of yellow and orange. For the sketch I went to Pals Paper Arts: PPA111 - A Sketch Challenge. I knew I wanted to use my Days of Gratitude stamp set and the coordinating Autumn Spice DSP. I haven't used either the stamp set or the DSP often enough.

Summer Thank You Cards...

Hello! Hope that you're enjoying the last little bit of summer. I'm spending the week in my classroom setting up for the new school year. It's always exciting to start off a new year and the new adventures that come along with it.

Here are the thank you cards I've created in the past little while... I made a bunch (like 15) to give to people. I used a melon mambo/pumpkin pie combo because it screams SUMMER.... and I'm going to hang on as long as I can. The DSP is from the new Just Add Cake collection!

Hang on to the last few days of summer.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your week!

Wedding Wishes

Happy Saturday,
Today in London, Ontario it's a beautiful day for a wedding. I'm looking forward to the family wedding later today. The wedding card I made uses the same colours as the wedding invitation - black, pink and white. I can't remember the last time I used black cardstock as the base for the card. The invitation looked clean and modern so I wanted to create the same look on my card. I knew I wanted to use an older stamp set that I haven't used in ages - On a Pedestal. I know it's a birthday stamp set, but I think the birthday cake can pass for a wedding cake. For the layout and design I went to Friday Mashup challenge #21 - Bossy and Sketchy. Interestingly the layout is similar to the one I had in mind and I also wanted to use an embossing folder for the card. Since I'm using two older stamp sets , I thought I'd participate in Just Add Ink #82 - Just Add . . .  Something from your stash.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Here are the details:

CS: Basic Black, Melon Mambo, Whisper White
Stamp Set: On a Pedestal, Whimsical Words
Ink: Melon Mambo
Tools: Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Decorative Label Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch

Enjoy the day,

She's back... JAI 79 Just Add Tearing/Distressing

Hello friends...
After a crazy month of taking a course and moving into a new house I'm finally back and stamping/crafting again : )  I decided to take part in the Just Add Ink - Just Add Tearing/Distressing challenge today. I did it on MDS (My Digital Studio) and used digital effects to create the tearing and distressing... different, but kind of cool! If you would like to take a look at the challenge you can hop over to the following link  http://just-add-ink.blogspot.com/2011/08/jai-79-just-add-tearingdistressing.html

Here is what I came up with...

This is my sister Kelly and I (Heather) getting ready for my cousins wedding. Totally by fluke, we matched and I had to get a photo. I used Island Indigo (one of the new In Colors) and a variety of stamps, punches and embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by and hope that you have a great weekend !!!
