Mother's Day Wishes

Hi there,

Mother's Day is coming up and both my mom and my mother-in-law love flowers so I've designed this card for them. I've also designed this card with a card challenge in mind. This time I went to Stamping Only Challenges and the theme was Mother's Day cards. I just love how I could create so many different flowers with the Build a Blossom stamp set and the Blossom Petals Punch. I don't think that I'll ever get tired of this set.

Here's the card:

Ink: Rose Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip

Two Challenges in One Card

I'm at it again. I just love creating cards using a challenge, or two. For this card I went to Stamping 411 for a colour challenge. I really like the colour combination in this challenge. It makes me think of Spring! Next I went to Pals Paper Arts for a sketch challenge. I really like the layout of this sketch. I was excited to use the Paisley Petals DSP again. I'm loving this DSP and I might have to order more when it comes out in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue. I also couldn't wait to use my Build a Blossom stamp set and the Blossom Petals punch.

Easter card

Happy Easter everyone! I hope that you're enjoying the Easter weekend with friends and family. I'm enjoying having the time off to have a slower pace and I have more time for cards. This is the card I gave to Heather for Easter. The polka dots made me think of decorated Easter eggs. The DSP is retired, but I love the colours in the paper. Actually I'm using a few supplies that are retired. I need to use up my retired supplies so I could purchase some new things from Stampin' Up.

Here's the card:

Here's the recipe:

CS: Whisper White, Temping Turquoise
DSP: Petals & Paisleys (retired)
Stamp sets: Bliss, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Rose Rose
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, So Saffron 5/8" grosgrain ribbon (retired), Temping Turquoise 1/4" gros grain ribbon (retired), So Saffron brads (retired from the Rich Regals brads pack)
Tools: Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, paper snips

Enjoy the Easter weekend and I hope that you enjoy lots of chocolate!

Cottage Splendor

Happy Tuesday,

I hope that the weather is cheery where you are because it's been cold and wet here in London, Ontario. I know the rain is good for the flowers, but we need more warm weather. At least this card makes me think warm summery thoughts. I love how Cottage Wall coordinates with Cottage Garden. I recently received Cottage Wall from my clearance rack order from Stampin Up! and I couldn't wait to use it. It's a bonus that it uses one of my favourite colours - Rich Razzleberry. I don't think I'll ever tire of this DSP or stamp set. For this card I am doing another card challenge. I'm back at The Paper Players for the challenge. I just love the clean lines of this sketch.

Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Here are the details for the card:

CS: Whisper White, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry
DSP: Cottage Wall
Stamp Set: Cottage Garden
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Embellishments: Rich Razzleberry ½" polka dot grosgrain ribbon (also from the Stampin' Up! clearance rack), Basic Pearls, Paper Snips

So happy Monday to you. In London, we got snow yesterday... seriously! April 17th and we got snow!
That being said, I decided to stay warm inside and catch up on my scrapbooking. I've been scrapbooking in the traditional sense since I was 13 or so - but this past year I was introduced to MDS (My Digital Studio) which I have now fallen in love with. MDS is an amazing software put out by Stampin' Up that allows you to make scrapbooks, cards, journals etc. on your computer. You can then either print them out though SU or take them to a local photofinishing place (I usually do Costco because it's so close to where I live)!

This 8 X 8 scrapbook page is a blue vintage inspired. The main colours are Marina Mist and Not Quite Navy. I'm thrilled with how it turned out. For those of you who don't know us personally and have wondered "Who are Heather and Ana???"... Ana is on the left and Heather is on the right!

Click on the picture to see it enlarged and check out the little details!

Hope you enjoyed this MDS page. I'm looking at sharing a few more in the future (now that I've figured out how to upload them!

Have a great Monday!

Flower Power

Hello,

It's time for another challenge. I found a new card challenge to do. For this card I went to The Friday Mashup http://www.fridaymashup.com/. I love this challenge because it combines a sketch and colour challenge in one card. Once I went through my Designer Series Paper I noticed that Paisley Petals incorporates all three colours, I knew that I wanted to use that paper. It was love at first sight with this DSP and I ordered it right away with the sneek peak from Stampin' Up!http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/CategoryPage.aspx?categoryID=792. It will be available in the 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue in July. This challenge uses a scallop circle punch which I don't own. I improvised it using the small circle punch in my Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I just punched out some small circles and then cut them in half. Then I adhered them to the back of the circle et voilà. I saw this technique on a blog. I am also participating in the Pals Paper Arts challenge PPA 89 Fashion Inspiration - Flowers http://www.palspaperarts.com/.

And here's my card:

Embellishments: Crumb Coat 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon
Tools: 1-3/8" Circle Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Scallop Trim Border

One Card... Three Challenges!

So I've been a bit MIA lately (not that anyone is counting but it's been 10 days since my last post). Things have been crazy with things at school... DanceFest, ChoralFest, Spring Concert, etc. multiplied by 2 schools (I'm exhausted just reading all this)! It's a great time of the year at school but super busy!

I thought I would be efficient this weekend and create one card that met requirements for three challenges.

The challenges are...

1) Stamping 411 - Saturday Sketch Challenge #199 http://stamping411.blogspot.com/2011/04/saturday-sketch-challenge-199.html
2) Stampin' Up Only Challenges - # 16 It's Raining Cats and Dogs (Animal Theme) http://suochallenges.com/
3) Stampin Royalty - Challenge #67 Spring Has Sprung! http://stampinroyalty.blogspot.com/

The card I've created is an Easter Card that incorporates spring colours and a butterfly!

Details please...
CS: Regal Rose
DSP: Nursery Suite
Ink: Marina Mist
Stamp Set: Bliss and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Embellishments: Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon

Hope you enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by,

Heather

Well, Heather and I were talking about our favourite DSP - Razzleberry Lemonade and I knew that I had to use that.
